IAVA
Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), is an advocacy group dedicated to United States veterans of the War in Iraq and War in Afghanistan. It is the first and largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organization for new veterans. The group, founded by Paul Rieckhoff in 2004, addresses critical issues facing new veterans and their families, including mental health injuries, a stretched VA system, inadequate health care for female veterans, and GI Bill educational benefits. IAVA also provides valuable resources and empowers veterans to connect with one another, fostering a strong and lasting community.With over 200,000 Member Veterans and supporters nationwide, IAVA's role is to support the 2.4 million veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan.
